Kids Bug Hunt for Ages 3-7

Are you ready to go on a bug hunt? This scavenger hunt for kids is a true adventure! This bug hunt is ideal for birthday parties, play groups, school groups and can be easily held for small or large groups alike. Clues incorporate fun graphics and rhymes as children travel from location to location collecting stickers to complete their bug collection sheet.

Bug Hunt Premise

Children proceed from location to location, where they find clues about different types of insects. When they go to the location the clue indicates, they find a sticker of the bug they were searching for along with the next clue. This hunt can be set up as a race to see who can finish their bug collection first, or simply a fun activity.

Sample Clue

The clues refer to a hiding place that can be just about anywhere. Many can be customized as in the clue above. For example, you can write in “pots and pans cupboard” on the blank line or “craft supplies closet” to customize the clue to your location.

The clues are:

The clue locations are flexible so that you can easily make this work in your home, a school, etc. The hunt is also designed so if you don’t like a clue you can skip it – simply give the stickers corresponding to the missing clue to the children in advance.

*Most of what you need for this hunt is supplied in the downloadable materials. However, you will need to purchase labels for the bug stickers which should be available at your local office supply store.

Length of Hunt

Our hunts are designed to be very flexible in the amount of time it takes to run the hunt. You can customize this hunt based on where and how well you hide the clues. You can also shorten the hunt by eliminating some of the clues. A typical hunt should last 15 – 45 minutes based on if you choose to incorporate the additional activities or game ideas included in your download.

Preparing for Your Hunt

Give yourself plenty of time to plan your hunt. Although we have tried to make this an easy process for you, the very nature of planning a custom hunt in your specific location will take some preparation. Read through your Directions document as soon as possible. This will explain anything that you need to purchase or prepare prior to your hunt. Most hunts will require you to plan out where you want to hide your clues. Some hunts, such as the Pirate Hunt, Teen Treasure Hunt, Haunted Hunt and the Make it Your Own Customizable Hunt require you to purchase/gather items and set up clue stations. These hunts could take up to 4 hours to plan depending on your location and experience in this type of activity.

How the Bug Kids Scavenger Hunt Is Delivered

If you choose the download, in the order confirmation page and confirmation email there will be a link where you can click to download your purchased product. Otherwise, you can revisit www.mastersofthehunt.com and click on the "Login" link at the top of the site - then go to "My Account." When you log on, the hunt can be retrieved from "My Downloads."
