Patriotic Activites Hunt

Whether history was your favorite subject or not, this Patriotic Scavenger Hunt Activity is sure to become one of your favorite memories. This Patriotic Activities Hunt is perfect for a patriotic picnic or get-together, a summer company picnic, or a fun activity for school children. We call this a scavenger hunt activity because it is not a standard scavenger hunt list of items to collect. There are four sections – a creative activity, cleverly themed scavenger hunt items, patriotic-themed trivia and patriotic-themed puzzles. There is something for everyone in this Patriotic Activities Hunt.

Patriotic Activities Hunt Premise

Participants are given a “hunt book” with a creative activity page, a list of items to collect, a page of trivia questions and a puzzles page. They are challenged to complete all of the activities and then turn in the items and solutions to the hunt leader. The hunt leader then scores the hunt books and announces a winner, or winning team.

Sample Patriotic Activties

• Scavenger Hunt Item - At the Boston Tea Party, angry and frustrated American colonists dumped 342 whole crates of British tea into Boston harbor on December 16, 1773. Collect something that starts with the letter “T.”
• Trivia - What do the following have in common? A feather, Macaroni, and a pony.
• Puzzle – Teams must decipher a code using flags from the Revolutionary War as the key.

What makes this hunt ideal for families and adults?

The hunt is:

• Clever – This is a challenging hunt for adults, but clues aren’t too hard for children age 12 and up to solve. It is not recommended for children aged 11 or younger to complete without assistance. However, if playing as a family, there are activities for the younger children, so they can contribute and stay engaged as well.
• Fun - It will appeal to the little kid inside all of us, but it is not childish.
• Diverse - There are a variety of activities, which means there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Length of Hunt

Our hunts are designed to be very flexible in the amount of time it takes to run the hunt. This activity can be set for any amount of time. One hour is recommended for this activity.

Preparing for Your Hunt

Give yourself plenty of time to plan your hunt. Although we have tried to make this an easy process for you, the very nature of planning a custom hunt in your specific location will take some preparation. Read through your Directions document as soon as possible. This will explain anything that you need to purchase or prepare prior to your hunt. Most hunts will require you to plan out where you want to hide your clues. Some hunts, such as the Pirate Hunt, Teen Treasure Hunt, Haunted Hunt and the Make it Your Own Customizable Hunt require you to purchase/gather items and set up clue stations. These hunts could take up to 4 hours to plan depending on your location and experience in this type of activity.

How the Patriotic Activities Hunt is Delivered
